My name is Dave Chesser. I’m in the pic above with one of my main teachers — Chen Yun-ching.
My martial arts background is diverse and my teachers have been many. Of those, the following have been my main teachers: Desmond Jackson (choylifut), Marcus Brinkman (xingyiquan, baguazhang, taijiquan), Luo De-xiu (xingyiquan, baguazhang), Zhou Bao-fu (long fist, weapons), and Chen Yun-ching (taijiquan, xingyiquan, baguazhang, shaolinquan, weapons). I don’t mention these teachers in order to ride their coattails or anything like that, but to acknowledge their contributions to my martial arts. I thank them all for their teachings.
I’m a certified teacher under Chen Yun-ching in the Chen Pan-ling family arts. This is my certificate in Chinese:
My Chinese name on the certificate is Yang Yi-de.
I’m married to a beautiful Taiwanese woman and we have two young children — Nicholas and Rachel.
It’s for them that I teach martial arts.
